It's cold there in the US and Europe, even Turkey seems to be the North Pole now. But here in Lima I got too lazy and sleepy with the heat, too much heat makes me want to go outside and ride my bike to nowhere. I owe some jobs, practices and drawings I know, but I cannot help it with this heat. I need to move to a cooler place, but it's expensive and waay far so... I gotta drink to sleep all day and get myself to work all night. HANDSOME CRIMINAL OR THE MAKING OF A NEW "TOY" MODEL

No, it's not about concerning to hot-looking serial killers... yet, but I was with the idea of making a Palanca Toy from the very beginning I adopted the artist's name "Palanca". First it was the cutouts, then I wanted some latex toys I never performed. Accidentaly later, I found a cheaper but more delicate way of working like the mattress foam, and lately I was only thinking some less risky material since I could be allergic to foam (specially when I'm trimming it!). I want to work on sewing pattern design... but for making toys only! That's why I'm trying to figure it out with the measurements and geometry... boy, it's a science! The human face itself is some sort of complicated architecture... Some months ago I felt inspired by a drawing from -known artist Jay Bone. His style is focused on cartoon characters created by himself, and I love the dynamics in ruff sketches in cartoons. He and I don't use to draw blond guys, but the one that inspired him (one blond guy from real life) also indirectly inspired me! He captured the essential appeal in a man that I didn't want to modify that much, I only added the details I use to add and also added him legs and bare feet, of course! Some days ago I found an amazing drawing made by artist Jay Bone, of a handsome blond guy wearing an open hood showing his furry chest. I was so impacted that I felt the need to work on my own version of this. I almost do him exactly as the original, only I added him legs and feet. Hope Jay don't get mad at me for doing this, I put his credits in my sign, so I'm not stealing his work. This is only a computer coloured sample. I finally finished the 2nd Poster. The last one and this one both are large sized. I never worked on those sizes and I find it really stimulating to work by moving my whole arms the way I did in the very remote past, when I was attending at some drawing workshop around 1990-1991. MY CANADIAN MOUNTED COP FANTASY...

Bringing back memories about my childhood fantasies, it came to my mind that I was fascinated with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Men. How did it come? In many ways: maybe an Illustrated Atlas (I was a true World Atlas fan) where those guys were featured, also I remember some Disney/Uncle Scrooge's comic books when sometime he or Donald met those guys or in some way they dealt with them for some reason. Everytime I found those guys with that peculiar hat, red and black uniform so sexy that I mentally jerked off by thinking of getting myself lost in the woods and being saved by a man like this and riding a horse. And that was of course far long from knowing about Tom's uniformed men. Another fantasy I've had is with the Foreign Legion soldiers from the Saharian Desert. I think they were french, but not sure, they wore a beige uniform with a white cap with a piece of fabric/handkerchief to protect the neck from the sunrays. It will be my next drawing...

A friend of mine wants me and him to work on some t-shirt designs. He already printed one of my drawings on a black shirt, and it doesn't look bad, but I was thinking in a bigger design, maybe a face or face and a foot, or maybe just a foot and the PALANCA brand name together. So I started to play with the mouse, maybe it doesn't have rich lines like the ones I achieve with the pencil, but the results seem kinda interesting. I gotta try both ways, I guess...

I was in a pool yesterday, it is really crowded the most of the times. It's located in a slum part of the town, and many young guys join the place, since they would stay in that pool and enjoy water with their comrades rather than taking their girlfriends to the beach, which is relatively expensive. Some guys are really hot, but they are mostly a bit into drugs or vandalism. But I found this attractive, tall young and abs-marked guy with this particular bushy hair who

came with two guys much less in shape than him. He however, wasn't arrogant, even he seemed to be the "silly guy" from the three. For the two short, slightly ugly boys, he might be like their "girl". I couldn't resist to start a conversation with him. We dive together and he's fast, so I prophetized him to be a new Michael Phelps only if he proposed it for himself. Of couse he looked at me a bit like I was talking shit, but I am glad I left a little seed in his mind. He has a great body and he will be an athlete if he gets with the right people. It would be sad if he join, only to compare himself with other guys with great bodies too, but hangin' out with drugs.

THE SATYR (FAUN) AND THE PEASANT

This is supposedly one of my tasks I am taking to school. Teacher asked us to work on a drawing of a person (the subject is Group Therapy in Clinical Psychology) but instead of working on a single guy or a guy and his "family", I am working on a peasant (the one with the shovel) as the working part of myself "struggling" with the playful, funny old faun (is it Pan?) trying to give the young peasant a break in his labour. Notice some kind of obsessiveness in the fruits (they're giant pieces, even the peas are kinda erotic and almost to explode inside from its sheath). I didn't want him to be muscled, but neither wanted him to look "fashionable", I just wanted a regular guy from the seaside, so the final idea started to come by itself: I coverted my buttmeister to an Argentine guy: italian/irish mixed, slim, very hairy and with the sexy looking feet I used to find in Buenos Aires, the "Portegno" Man, so the accesories like the Obelisk of Buenos Aires, the Yerba Mate (the guy is sipping it from a gourd, traditional beverage widely drank in Argentina and Uruguay) and some names of famous "Barrios" (neighborhoods) in Buenos Aires (I forgot to put San Telmo, the official craddle of Tango, the national dance in Argentina). THE "PERUVIAN" PALANCAS: LOVERS AND DETRACTORS

Many people email me to congratulate on my drawings, but public is divided, there are some who like the first Palancas: more rough, "cartoonesque". Others prefer them more "academic", more "classic". There are some who like extra body hair and some others like them to be moderate. But there is a particular preference in those native-peruvians with their ethnic features and attitudes, and I was thinking that was (in a very beginning) the main reason for (re)creating my men, since gay illustrators were dominantly "anglo-esques".

I gotta say, as a common peruvian I am, that I absorbed the "europeist" standards of beauty, it can be viewed in my early erotic drawings, mostly due to my hometown's urban environmet, with many european-descent sportsmen who I used to see naked in a healthy club sauna. However, those healthy clubs with white customers always hired non-white workers, native peruvians coming from out of Lima, with strong "quechua" features, who easily befriended me because I have aimara features due to my paternal grandmother, so they took me as their "brother-in-blood". Even, they easily knew and accepted my homosexual preferences, and was with them that I experimented an open, frank, possessiveless, accomplice sex that I rarely or never had with an anglo or euro-like lover.

That distorted, retarded-like vision of a social/sexual embryo world changed when I went to Spain and enjoyed a crazy summer. That made me also think about a possible openly gay life in Peru, away of those standards of finding them only in gay ghettos: why not finding gay sex betwen workers in a workshop, a factory, a wholesale, between electric technicians, between trash recyclers, heavy bulk lifters in a pier, in overnighting security guards (guachimanes) and in the military and/or police schools (grumetes or cachacos)?

Of course, there are some people, including close friends who believe that true love will never be found in those outcast, "underrated" circles, even, they think the only way to get them is with some money to spare, they could be right or not, but some other people put peasants and hampons in the same sack (maybe due to their ridiculous fear of the non-white) to accuse these people who-are-not-like-them to be habitual blackmailers able to any atrocity or crime. Anyways fuck them, blackmailers exist all over the world, it's not my task of fingerpointing prostitution in Spain, where it's a sick habit to fingerpoint sex houses between themselves.

I certainly found lovely this picture, the way I am keeping it as my computer's wallpaper from around 3 months, maybe more. Someone mailed me a page I cannot remember now, with many profiles with pictures. There I found someone specially cute, and between his pictures I found this one with his dog. Besides, one of his pictures he was with a distinctive sash that says M. Cuir 2007 so I googled and found out he was Monsieur Cuir (Mr. Leather Montreal 2007). The site is from a photographer named Ryan Lee (http://www.photographs/ws/fusion2007.html ), but he doesn't feature this guy's name. I don't even know if M. Cuir took himself this photo, but in a fact I know its good vibes and tenderness surely worked for my hard-to-deal health recovering. Ha ha ha, this is one promo video of my artwork, where I inserted the music of one of my very favorite alternative rock bands from Washington State: BEAT HAPPENING. The singer's name (and composer and leader of the band) is Calvin Johnson, he is now following a soloist carreer, he's kinda anti-mainstream music guru, but that's why I like him even more. He even is hot looking too, tall, brute, cocky, or at least when he was handling the band. Anyways, this is also a little hommage for him, although I am not sure if he might like or hate my drawings' setup in his music. Please I need your comments, in youtube users I got some approval, one of the comments was "it's very gay, but in a good way". Yes, that comment left me doublethinking. So guys, enjoy the video!!!

Entangled Shapes of Feet, Veins, Olive Tree Roots, etc

I was always wondering, since English is not my mother tongue, how to express in words about qualifying adjectives for shapes in feet, in veins, the same as some "capricious" olive tree roots: freaky? funky? crazy? kooky, weird? I was trying Google translation with images related, and the closest result I found for this was the adjective "entangled" or "tangled", although in spanish it doesn't sound satisfactory to me, because it just means "twisted together in a confused mass". I rather like the expression "capricious shapes" but the adjective word in english seems to be applied for unmature female behavior, so I am even more confused. Would someone help me on this? To put an example, for this cowboy's "extreme arched" feet: is it vaild to say that he has capricious-shaped feet or what???

"Tango" by the Gabinete Caligari, is a song dated from 1984. The Caligaris are my Spain's all-time favorite rock band, they don't have any video featured of this magnificent song because strangely it wasn't as popular as many many other themes they have. So I decided to pay a tribute to that song that, for me it's their very best. Basic, simple, gypsy, darkish, sexy, macho, as an old erotic image of a man from the past. Tango is not precisely in a tango but a milonga rhythm. It reminds me vintage classics like "The Green Leaves Of Summer" or "La Playa". I am still working on it. Hope you will like it when the video is ready.

Well in some cases size doesn't matter if the thing is to enjoy or being stimulated with someone or something of that someone or just something itself. In my case I look for variety the way I combine sweetness, saltiness and sourness in one dish with food. As I am focused on feet, I like the high arches because of the foot (and body) sprintness that makes toes more hammertoed, more individual and more geographic. I like roughness in the dark tanned instep while I like kinda softness, warmity, cuddly heat in the salmon pink/orange/reddish calloused sole. The example is in the featured drawing detail posted.
